FANTASTIC, what else can you say? /Ruben
Wish I can see something like that here everyday but I doubt since I'm living in the middle of the city...
I played as well -> http://www.joannemv.com
Another astonishing bird captured with your so loving photo eye. I wish I could fly! Kram
Spectacular close ups! What a lovely setting.
amazing captures! what a beautiful place.
Did the Heron squawk its displeasure at having been disturbed? There is nothing pretty about their voice, unless you are another Great Blue.
Nice series. I always have trouble getting birds in flight.
Beautiful shot of the heron in flight. I often see them flying to their evening roosts at twilight here.
Yes, fantastic! I feel like I was watching that bird's flight with you Carol!
I really like the expanse in these photos. And of course watching the bird take flight.
From the sculpture in the pond at Smith College to "the real thing" you take us on such amazing adventures. Beautifully recorded and gratefully received. Thank you for taking me along.
Amazing!!!
Jag tycker alltid det är så spännande att öppna upp din blogg för man vet aldrig vad man skall få se.
Idag är det verklien worldless!!
Tänka att du har fått se detta i verkligheten!!
Big hug

Loved your blue heron photos. We live by a creek and have a few of them around here too. They are huge and amazing birds when they fly off. It reminds me of a prehistoric animal. Happy Thanksgiving and WW!
Hi Carol! Thanks for visiting my blog ... Very nice images!
I have a feeling that this crane seems to take me with it somewhere.
A background is very magnificent.
You caught supreme Nature.
Thank you for showing wonderful scenery.
Thanks to you, my mind was freed.
Hello Carol,
I always look forward to your Wednesday posts. The beauty of the heron and the backdrop of the marsh is so striking. It immediately creates an emotional response.
I am looking forward to next Wednesday's post already.
Beautiful and poetic pictures! Wonderful light and colours. Expertly taken as usual! Have a wonderful Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Ingrid
Ah, you remind me of why these are my favorite birds. They look like something ancient that has survived from the time of dinosaurs. There is something so majestic and awe inspiring in a creature that reminds you of the great passage of time. They remind me that life does continue to go on no matter how tough it seems at times. These birds are like talismans of survival for me. Thank you for these incredible shots. Really spectacular!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! :-)
Such lovely photos of this exotic bird. I love to hear their call! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Very good images of the heron.
Beautiful pictures. The Heron is majestic. I always find it fascinating the way they fly with an S shaped neck.
Great series of photos of the Great Blue Heron.
So lovely....thank you for sharing your wonderful captures with us! gail
Yes, poetic, your Heron in flight ... stunning! Thanks for sharing, Carol ... a gift knowing you and wishing you a beautiful Thanksgiving!
Thank you all for visiting... Les, Actually these were taken on two different days... the one where the heron is standing was the sunset before the next days encounter. I had been eyeing another bird further out in the grass when the heron just flew out nearly in front of me. It is true that Great Blue Herons have a rather croaky call ... but if you hear it and look up you are pretty sure to see one. It must be tough with that long throat. I have had magical encounters with these creatures but never has one granted me such a sitting so to speak. I wish I could fly too Lillebeth! Carol
Oh what wonderful pictures!! I love birds and specially big ones... watch my blog, as I leave for India today and am going to see the demoiselle cranes in Rajasthan - this is a spectacular sight - 5,000 pairs come to feed at a remote village!!! Will be posting pictures on my blog in the next 10 days.
Terrific photos! Have a happy weekend!
Thanks for sharing these photos of something I may never see. I forgot to say I love the photos of the coast, and such in your previous post.
Fantastic captures. well done!
