I am offering blooming balloons for this Blooming Friday... to see other blooms the world over visit our gracious Katarina's Roses and Stuff. We are having a subtle show so far this Autumn but the hot air balloons are most colorful... as are certain trees here and there. Japanese Maples tend to go all out red and juxtaposed with a White Birch it is most striking. Purple asters still dot the landscape and are visited by lingering Lepidoptera. This lovely "common" sulfur is quite a compliment to the purple aster.

What an amazing view of the Lepidoptera when I enlarge the image. (Thank you for taking me back to high school biology. Naming creatures is a special tribute.) Truly a conspiracy of miracles—Nature's wonders, your eye, your camera, and the world wide web.
Lovely hot air balloons...though it makes me a bit nervous to think of riding in one.
Beautiful landscape in the pictures with the balloons.
In Stockholm I often see them flying over the town but earlier this year we had one balloon visiting us just a few meters from our house. Look at this: http://miashem.blogspot.com/2009/05/kanin-pa-rymmen.html :)
Take care!
Mia
That white birch is stunning and the balloons are so lovely to see. I used to see them all the time before they moved the landing field. Now I see cute little by-planes instead. It's a trade off I guess.
There is nothing quite so glorious then seeing a hot air balloon in the sky. The photo with the white birch and Japanese maple is just stunning!
Morning!
The ballon photos are lovely, Carol, and the photos also show the blooming landscapeviews in automne.
Have a nice weekend!/

What a lovely sight! I sure would lika to fly along! Hope you will have a really nice week end!
Those balloons are like flowers in the sky. :-)
Autumn colours of your trees are stunning!
Whenever I see a hot air balloon, I think of my little collie who always barked at them. Great photos!

It must be so magical to ride in a hot air balloon over those hills and autumn colors... I love the picture of the white birch. The sulfur butterfly photo is just stunning!
Wonderful shots with great autumn colours! Have a great weekend! Love, Ingrid
Thanks so everyone for visiting and sharing your thoughts... I have always wanted to hop into the little box and fly away up in the sky... since starring in a grammar school play 'Around the World in Eighty Days'. Sometimes I hear the sounds of the balloon being filled... (there is no other sound quite like it) and run out with my camera or have it nearby where I am working. It is great when they sail right over the house. I will do it someday and will post photos from a high. Have a lovely holiday. Carol
What a lovely clear picture that last one, I can even see them green eyes!!
Wonderful pictures and fascinating landscape!

I like looking at hot air balloons but I don't think I would have the nerve to go up in one!

Those balloons are lovely but the landscape is amazing! The last two photos made me gasp! The details...wow!!
What a fantastic flight you are bidding on and to land among the beautiful flower and and butterflies. Thanks for a lovely outing. /Margareta
So lovely picture you have today.. the airbaloon looks so great in the big big sky.. =). The translation tool is very bad almost everytime.. sorry for that. I also love my bench by the lilac, but we decided together to cut the lilac down because its has grown to tall and
it didnt look nice at the bottom.. but I hope it will grow next year so I have my private spot there again.. Have a nice weekend.. Moa
Carol, I was stunned by your butterfly images. I feel like I want to touch that creature, although I know that it is no-no! The hot air ballons' pictures reminded me of my old dream - to take a ride on them. We made reservations twice, and both times the flights were cancelled. Then, our kids were born, and I cancelled my dream... Maybe, after they grow up and won't need me anymore, ha-ha...
Your balloons look so cheerful...and that's how I feel watching your pictures. The last one especially - extraordinary!
Ballon rides are amazing,we passed over Lake windermere when we flew, we could see our reflection so clearly in the lake below... it took your breathe away! Everyone should go up at least once.
