There is an extraordinary light show, as the earth turns from day towards night, in this corner of the world. The sky above Flower Hill Farm is HUGE and I wish I could share the vastness of the canopy. The azure blue stretches in an arc high above the land and antique farmhouse, as seen in a planetarium. When night becomes the stage, the sky sparkles with the Milky Way, constellations and planets. There is a change in the air, jet streams usher in fronts of cold or warmth. Clouds become like temples falling into rivers of light and air. Autumn is a wondrous season and it is nearly upon us . . . there will be time to fall back into fluffy down and savor the magic of change.
This post is about sharing what is just out the windows, French doors and above the gardens. While you stroll with me in the muddled wildness that is my garden . . . you might enjoy looking up to see the sunset reflecting in an eastern sky. I wish you a lovely weekend, with miles of breathtaking wide blue yonder.

Carol ~ The sky and clouds above you are beautiful. Those are great pictures and you can just feel the earth winding down for the day, becoming quieter of man made noises, as the night sounds emerge.
Thanks for sharing ~ FlowerLady
Yor skies are marvellous, I do understand your fascination, like the sea changning all the time.

Spectacular skies, Carol! The clouds are so puffy and tall with so many different colors!!! Really beautiful!
Our skies here mostly seem either clear blue, or completely fogged in these days. I love a good sunset though when the clouds lend a more moody feel to the sky. I love the way the sunlight is caught on the white clouds in your 2nd and 3rd shot. Gorgeous!
Wonderful, wonderful pictures. Such a beuatiful play between the sky, clouds and light. Thanks, Carol, and have lovely weekend!
Dear Carol, What a wonderful reminder to all of us to look upwards! As a gardener, I spend so much time kneeling with my head down over the flowerbeds. Your gorgeous pictures tell me to look up to the skies more often. Thanks you. Pam x
Wow ... really spectacular! Loved the drama of that first photo.
The awesome sky is a wondrous free show, Carol, and you have a front row seat. Great photos. Though level ground here at home, we are high on a hill at the lake with breathtaking views when the fronts, changing every minute, come through.
Beautiful! I can almost feel the change in season...
Carol girl .. what can I say ?
you know how much I love the sky and these are such glorious shots you have me in awe and SO wondering what it would be to lay down and watch the night sky unfold .. it would be heaven on earth no kidding .. I am watching my morning sky unfold right now .. but that thought about your sky will be with me for a long time!
"SO beautiful ..." just like in "Contact" : ) when Jodi Foster travels through the wormhole
Joy : )
You always get the best sky shots. Do you live near the top of a mountain?
Thank you all!! Joey I recall seeing some of your lovely lake photos. I would love to have a body of water here. Les, I am on the near top of a hill... about 1,000 feet up ... maybe a bit more. The sky is nearly full dome, when I go away from the house and large Rock Maples. It is truly heavenly. ;>)
Carol, Those are beautiful images - I love the sky and the quality of light this time of year...
I am so looking forward to a sunset after 16 years of seeing no further then the apartment across the street.
Space, depth, and sunlight, I can't wait.

I love how you've focused on the clouds as the central feature. What wonderful space you live in!
I LOVE yours wonderful photography.
Kind Regards, Lucy
Sigh~it's all so beautiful! I miss the sunrise and sunset~closed in by trees here at C&L!
Carol, such pretty sky shots. We are having one of those beautiful sky days today. Gorgeous sky with loads of clouds, but not the pretty surrounding landscape to match. Since it is a nice day, I will be off to a walk to the falls. Great weather.
Dearest Carol, How important it is to look up!! Your skyscapes are wonderful and do make me think of the infinite, the endless, the galaxies beyond galaxies......how very small we human beings are in the great scheme of things.
Absolutely stunning! Your corner of the world is a wondrous place. Thanks for sharing! I posted some sky photos today, but I'm afraid they can't compare.
What a beautiful sky. It is magic.
Hello,
Beautiful sky and great shot.
gorgeous, i could enjoy peaking out of your inn :)
Totally agree... extraordinary light show... Beautiful shots of the sky!
Your sky pictures, as always, are magnificent.
Serendipity on the internet! I found myself here after wanting to see your frost photos again. (Time travel? February 2013.) How could I have missed this? The last photo could be a mural on one of the great cathedral ceilings of Italy. And I can't help but see the curvature of the earth in the third. What joy! I will take your wish to heart.
