I am working on a 'Bestiary' and sharing tales of the wildlife that share my land and gardens. Please check out Native Plants and Wildlife Gardens to read more about my encounters with American black bears. You can see more of the beasts that inhabit the land around me in my Bestiary Parade here.

Wow Carol ~ What a nice bunch of wild critters there at Flower Hill Farm. How wonderful to be able to photograph them too. Thank you for sharing and have a lovely Christmas season.

Oh my! bears, too. xoxogail
Carol...my first thought was, he looked dead and I was sorry to follow the link to find out, indeed it was true. However, I was thrilled to read your piece and learn so much about the black bear in your area, and your history including the baby black bear your son was able to hold...memorable for a lifetime.
You have quite a variety of beasts on your hill. Quite interesting to read about the wildlife that is so nicely photographed.
