Mystery to Me ??

Common Milkweed  Asclepias  syriaca  Waiting for the Monarchs

Fields of Wildflowers
upon closer scrutiny
sparkling gems emerge

Purple mist yellow
spiderwort and spider webs
 wildly woven glow

Wild Geraniums
cranesbill beaks reach outwardly
 dew forms liquid orbs

Fleabane nectaries
timely cups unfurl reveal
precious sustenance

Solomon's-plumes wave
brilliant false starry singing

Lilacs A Closer Look A Community Within

Lilacs closer up
Reveal a community
Gruesome life cycle

Singles and doubles
Petals home to deathly snares
Shattering embrace

Tiny black dashes
Be aware you may inhale
Ebony globes prowl

Corolla tepals
Tenacious tentacles grip
Lilac feeding ground

Lilac Time

Lilac time is here
Though days are wet and dreary
Tight buds open full

Bold colors shout out
Within the wash of greening
Dripping lilacs sway

The sun will return
Orioles and warblers sing
Gardens welcome light
