Wild Honey Bee Hive Sweet Wounds Fly Home

Wild Honey Bees live in an old Rock Maple just outside the old farmhouse. The warmer weather has them flying all about gathering sweet sap from tree scars ... wounds from a snow removal machine. I had wondered what the little bees could live on till blossoms unfurl until I discovered these honey bees gathering the sweet sap from another rock maple (also known as sugar maple) along the road. Their hive is located in a cavity about the same height as the tip of the balcony above in the first rock maple. They are wonderful neighbors!
